Check out the playlist at the end of the post.
Brother Louie – Modern Talking
This 80s megahit never dies. It’s already 2021 and it’s still being played EVERYWHERE here almost everyday and I hate it! Not putting this on my playlist.
You Showed Me – The Turtles / The Lightning Seeds.
Always Knew – The Vaccines.
Breezeblocks – Alt J
Binary Love – The Rakes
Red Light – The Strokes
Cocoon – Catfish & The Bottlemen
Indie bands always make the best love songs!
Can’t Stop Feeling – Franz Ferdinand
Toi Et Moi – Paradis
Dragula – Rob Zombie
Zulu Screams – Goldlink feat. Maleek Berry & Bibi Bourelly
Stupefy – Disturbed
I don’t dance but these songs always me want to get up and move.
Burn – The Cure (The Crow Soundtrack)
As The World Falls Down – David Bowie (Labyrinth Soundtrack)
Beautiful Crime – Tamer (Daredevil Soundtrack)
Trip Like I Do – Filter & Crystal Method (Spawn Soundtrack)
Devil Devil – Milck (Lucifer Soundtrack)
A lot of villainy, anti-hero songs here.
Sorry, I have no specific answer here because all my favorite songs make me feel calm.
Disarm – Smashing Pumpkins
Histrionics – Popsicle
Basket Case – Green Day
Fake Plastic Trees – Radiohead
Get Free – The Vines
Closer – Nine Inch Nails
This is how you tell how old I am.
Rise – PIL
Minor Threat – Minor Threat
Anarchy In The UK – Sex Pistols
Do They Owe Us A Living – Crass
Straight Edge – Minor Threat
Rise Above – Black Flag
Punk motivates me.
Tomorrow Never Knows – The Beatles
Immigrant Song – Led Zeppelin
Kashmir – Led Zeppelin
NIB – Black Sabbath
I’m not big on classic rock. Mostly because I hate the long drawn-out, vanity pieces of many progressive/classic rock bands.
Songs don’t make me cry.
This decade’s post-punk bands are my latest obsession.
Jimmy Brown – Echo & The Bunnymen
First I’m gonna make it
Then I’m gonna break it
‘Til it falls apart
Hating all the faking
Shaking while I’m breaking
My brittle heart
Scream Whole – Methyl Ethyl
‘Cause I can feel it in the rest of me
A part of what appears to be
More than just a taste on my tongue
Little Superstitions – The Rakes
Let’s make the most of it
The time we’ve got together
Quit all the secrets that are
Choking up your heart
And tearing all the light from the stars
Rise – Public Image Ltd.
May the road rise with you
Anger is an energy
Nudge It – Sleaford Mods
Colossus – IDLES
Heatwaves – Glass Animals
This is hard to answer because most song I like don’t hit the charts.
Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) – Green Day
Music snob me was an even more obnoxious music snob way back in high school. And I HATED the shitty, sappy, old-fashioned songs people always use for proms and graduations. I lobbied hard to have this song be our class song. My classmates were game, the teachers weren’t. But our class was never one to listen to them. I was so happy to see this in our year book.
The Game – Motorhead
I mentioned in a post before that I was huge fan of WWE, having grown up watching the pay-per-views. My late uncle was obsessed with the sport and he had the only colored TV in the neighborhood back then. All the kids flock to his house whenever there’s a movie or a wrestling video showing. Triple H’s badass theme song will always remind me of those good ole times.
Used To The Darkness – Des Rocs
Cold – Editors
To Lose My Life – White Lies
Hand Me Down – Mystery Jets
No Reptiles – Everything Everything
Soundcheck – Catfish & The Bottlemen
Gooey – Glass Animals
I heard a couple of people mention I had a nice speaking voice. Unfortunately, it doesn’t translate to singing. I sing only when alone and had never ever on karaokes.
Oh My God – Alec Benjamin
Always Be My Baby – David Cook
Umbrella – Manic Street Preachers
Bad Guy – Billie Eilish
Guilty pleasure songs.
Never Mind The Bullocks – Sex Pistols
All Arctic Monkeys albums
All Foals albums
All The Rakes albums
Okay, I really should just say all the albums on my phone.
I am still very convinced this is a matador/bull shifter love story.
[Screams in absinth]
How I wanted to look like while being shot by an assassin.
Not available on Spotify:
Gariron – Baroque
Always Be My Baby – David Cook
