What can possibly go wrong after our happily ever after?

This should be that magnificent time in a new relationship where Shane and I are revelling in our love for one another.

But fate has other plans.

I fought the battle against my condition and won. Yet Shane continues to treat me like I’m made of glass. Even though we’ve been given the all-clear to get our groove on, he keeps putting it off.

I know this is the first holiday since his mom passed, and the pain is still fresh. But I don’t want him to feel he constantly has to care for me, instead of letting me carry some of the weight. If we keep on this path, we’ll end up resenting each other.

Somehow, I have to make him understand I don’t need to be coddled. I love him. He’s mine and I want to spend the rest of my life spoiling him and reaffirming that he’s my favorite person.
