Mic and Neo – Aniya Yuiji
[Volume 1] A story about the impermanence of worldly things, containing domesticity, romance, and mystery. This is the volume on desire and earthly temptations.
A young man attempts suicide and loses his memories. Mic (borrowed name) is found by the caretaker of the Buddhist temple, Neo, who takes him under his wing. Upon doing so, Neo discovers that Miku was carrying a kiddie bag packed with… huge rolls of money?! Mic becomes a freeloader at the temple, living his days worry-free while waiting for his memory to return. But then Neo comes to discover Mic’s dark past… Aniya Yuiji’s new series! A Boy’s Love tale filled with Buddhism and mystery!
[Volume 2] An unusual domestic love mystery. This is the purification and rebirth edition.
Mic (borrowed name) is a young man who attempted suicide and then lost his memory. Neo is the temple worker who found Mic and took him in. Mic enjoys a carefree lifestyle at the temple at first, but his memory starts to trickle back before long. Separately, Neo begins to uncover Mic’s past and is slowly crushed beneath the weight of the knowledge. “I’ll never fall in love with Mic” he promises. Does his heart agree…? As we put an end to the tale, this is where Mic and Neo’s story begins.
At it’s core, this is a simple love story of the paranormal kind that fortunately ended happily. The rest are just there to make things convoluted.

I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him.

The Weight of It All – N.R. Walker
After being dumped by his long-term boyfriend for being overweight, Henry Beckett decides to make some drastic changes. In a vain attempt at getting his boyfriend back, Henry does the most absurdly frightening thing he can think of.
He joins a gym.
Reed Henske is a personal trainer who isn’t sure he’ll ever be ready to date again. He’s sick of guys who are only interested in the perfect body image, never seeing him for who he really is.
As Reed tortures Henry with things like diet and exercise, Henry enamours Reed with recipes and laughter. As the friendship lines start to blur, Henry is convinced there’s no way Thor-like Reed could ever be interested in a guy like him.
Reed just has to convince Henry that life isn’t about reaching your ideal bodyweight. It’s about finding your perfect counterweight.
A feel-good weight-loss faery tale from Australian author N.R. Walker complete with a queen with verbal diarrhea, Prince Charming in gym shorts, orgasmic lemon tarts and Chariots of Fire soundtrack. Henry’s “I’m going to die” jokes might be repetitive but his banter with Reed was as easy going as it is hilarious. Reed was the nicest Thor I have ever come across with, he values honesty and humor over looks. The side characters, Anika, Sean and Melinda, are the kind of brutally honest people I love to be friends with. It might be a kind of faery tale but it’s still grounded in reality. At the end, Henry didn’t get a poster perfect body but he did lose weight and was healthier. And he certainly got his happily ever after.
P.S.
As somebody who has weight-loss woes since forever, I still couldn’t believe that they can eat all that food and still LOSE weight!Rating:

There’s a big difference between trying to do something and actually doing it. We often say we’re trying to do something-losing weight, getting more exercise, finding a job. But the truth is, we’re either doing it or not doing it.
