Sabishigariya na Usotsuki Otoko no Otoshikata – Ogami

“Once I set my sights on something, I can’t help but want to possess it.”

Dressed impeccably in a suit with a dignified expression, Shiba, a company owner took an instant liking to Sakura, introduced as a business partner. Despite Shiba’s attempts to approach him, Sakura seemed to have an impenetrable guard, appearing as difficult to conquer as a fortress. However, by chance, they met again at a bar, and a drunk Sakura invited Shiba into a one-night relationship. Yet, the next day, the cute demeanor from the previous night was nowhere to be found as Sakura acted extremely cold. Despite having desires, Sakura didn’t want romance and preferred a rational relationship. Shiba, intrigued by this man who drew an extreme line, proposed a friends-with-benefits arrangement until the business deal was over…?

How to Capture the Heart of a Lonely and Deceptive Man is a perfect example of how to do a persistent seme right.

Our lonely and deceptive man is Sakura, all business and no nonsense, until one drunken night, Shiba takes him home only for Sakura to turn all needy and desperate. Already crushing on his business partner and therefore very willing to lend a hand. Shiba is captivated by the duality between night-time Sakura’s passion and day-time professionalism.

They agree to sleep with each other until the contract is complete but by then Shiba is determined to have Sakura while Sakura struggles with the idea of a romantic connection.

Sakura might be on the aro spectrum but with a persistent Shiba, who’s not only considerate but eager to spoil him, our boy stood no chance. I loved how Shiba was assertive without resorting to sekuhara, he used his considerable charms and genuine affection for the complicated Sakura to bridge the gap. Seriously, the ideal boyfriend!

I also appreciate that this is an old men yaoi, Shiba is in his 40s while Sakura in his 30s. The dynamic is sensible and mature yet passionate and sweet. Overall, the best way to capture a heart!
