Tenacious Secondary Characters

When it comes to secondary characters, Unbreakable Bonds gave us a lot of fun characters to visit again. Some of them even got their own stories. What’s even better, readers asked for their stories, and we happily gave them to them.

First up, we had Geoffrey Ralse. He crawled onto Snow’s lap in Shiver, and ended up being a man we found turning up at odd moments in future stories. Geoffrey was such a fun character to write with his lack of a filter and his determination to get Snow. So, of course, since he couldn’t have Snow, we gave him a man of his own in the gentle giant, Sven Larsen. Turns out, the bodyguard is everything Geoffrey needs. To see how Geoffrey and Sven finally get together, check out Psycho Romeo, the first in our Ward Security Series.

B showed up briefly in Shiver as Lucas’s personal stylist, and it was much later we had to give him a short story in The Unbreakable B. This is a fun romp as the guys prepare for a wedding, plus allowed B to show off more of his fun personality. You get the usual crazy shenanigans in this story as our Unbreakable guys do what they do best.

Shane Stevens arrived in one of Snow’s short stories in Unbreakable Stories, Snow. He was an ex of Jude’s and still friends with the man. We loved Shane so much, he got his own book in Dantès Unglued, the second in our Ward Security Series. We paired him up with one of Ward Security’s hacker, Quinn, giving them a love neither expected to find.

Ignite introduced the world to JB Alexander, an ex of Noah’s as well as an old Army buddy. JB and his sense of humor crawled into our hearts, and he just had his own book, Wicked Outlaw, the sixth book in our Ward Security Series. We absolutely loved pairing JB with Cole, another Ward Security hacker. And it was fun taking our city-loving Cole out west.

And of course, we have to bring up Hollis Banner. He was originally going to be a secondary character to the Unbreakable Bonds series. Simply this annoying cop who gives the boys a hard time. But he took one look at Ian, and we just knew he was in the books for the long haul. Hollis ended up a main character and had his books in Devour and Rialto.

There are more, but these are all characters originally intended to be minor characters and we just couldn’t say goodbye to them. There’s nothing like having a character come to life and demand their own story!
