MANGA: Suki tte Itte Kurete mo Ii yo?

Suki tte Itte Kurete mo Ii yo? – Suzuhiro
Kanade, a high school student who prefers to stay out of the spotlight, has been living a quiet and uneventful life. However, everything changes when Masaya, a former classmate from elementary school, transfers into his class. Masaya has always been popular and attention-grabbing, and Kanade wants nothing to do with him. Despite his efforts to avoid Masaya, Kanade finds himself relentlessly pursued from the very first day. When Kanade tries to keep his distance, an irritated Masaya boldly declares, ?I?ll make you say you love me!!? for reasons that are? unclear!? Caught off guard, Kanade is swept up in Masaya?s relentless advances from that day forward?!!
Dare Say You Like Me? is a relentless pursuit by a hyper extrovert of an extreme introvert.
Masaya thrives on attention, excelling in class and projecting perfection. When quiet classmate Kanade sees through his façade, Masaya is instantly smitten and begins his determined pursuit to make Kanade fall in love with him no matter what.
Meanwhile, Kanade is oblivious to Masaya’s charms, misunderstanding his confession as platonic “like”. Masaya then goes to live abroad and returns when they are high schoolers. With a helpful nudge from a friend, Masaya confesses again with a more direct declaration that Kanade finally gets it.
This is a fun play of opposites, with Kanade intentionally giving himself a glow-down using the megane trick in high school so he wouldn’t standout. Meanwhile Masaya is constantly surrounded by admirers puzzled why he’s friends with such a boring classmate. I loved Masaya’s undying devotion that started when they were in grade school.
Kanade is actually quite gorgeous but he got tired of being bothered by girls confessing to him. Getting to know Masaya more closely gave him confidence to embrace his looks and open up to other people. Him, slowly falling for Masaya was pure magic as Masaya discovers Kanade can make him swoon with devastating ease. Masaya practically squees himself to death with how thrilled he is.
This manga captures the challenges of unrequited feelings and sweetness of first love. Overall, a joyful story of daring to say “suki”
