A few W&G books ago, I was complaining about how there is too little magic spells in the books. Finally, Bloodline had Whyborne performing the level of badass magic I always wanted to see. This installment also had the kind of revelations that turns worlds upside down and it would seem very hard to top everything that happened in this book. It even felt like it was an ending of sorts with that closing scene and if it did end here, I would be happy knowing they got their happily ever after. But luckily, Jordan L. Hawk in her infinite goodness, gave Whyborne, Griffin and Christine another adventure so yay let’s meet them in Alaska.

Green but for a Season is the first of a series of four Captive Princeshort stories. It follows the relationship between Jord and Aimeric and is set during the events of Prince’s Gambit.
Glimpses of Damen and Laurent are always welcome. Trying not to think of Aimeric’s fate. I’m just glad Jord survived everything.

I don’t know how Cat Sebastian did it but she did it! She set the bar high in The Lawrence Browne Affair but this one exceeded my expectations. Julian is a peevish math genius who thought he was immune to feelings and Courtney was a reformed scoundrel blessed with too much good looks and little financial sense. I just love the two of them together, Julian being in charge and going all business-like even in the heat of the moment and Courtney letting him get his way. And whatever buns and pastry Courtney is feeding Julian, I need to get me some of those.
The side story about Ned and Eleanor Standish was a bonus. I’m glad they got their HEA. The author wrap it up nicely with the summer tea party at the ending.
Can we please have a book on Simon and Lady Montbray’s son?

This book ticks a lot of boxes: classy cover, adorable dog (hugs to Barnabus!), slim, slender good-looking MC (Georgie reminds me of Locke Lamora only gay), dual POV and lots of humor and fluff. The MCs really brought the best out of each other. Love this book!

Gay guys, cats and gay guys that turn into cats. What more could you ask for?
I had a reading slump for a few months and this book got me back on track. I love how the author handled the shape shifting part. It would have been really cheesy but she made it seem natural and smooth. You couldn’t help but love Cicero and of course he knows you do.
My only complaint, my pet peeve is that the other half of the pair (Tom Halloran in this case) always has to be some hulking, overly muscled man. Like 99% of the time one of the main MC is built like a truck. For me this is an equivalent of having the female romantic interest with exaggeratedly large boobs. This is the only reason why I can’t go beyond a few pages of Psycop. Other than how he looks, Tom is a likable, all around nice guy.
The author also wrapped things quite nicely at the end but left just enough openings for the next book. Jordan L. Hawk has always been good at keeping the momentum of her series going so, yeah, on to the next one.
