Welcome to Never Hollowed By The Stare!
This blog combines my love for reading and my passion for indie music. I like finding that perfect song for that perfect book and here, every book has its own soundtrack. You can also find BL manga, LGBT+ movie trailers and short films, playlists, release blitzes, book tours, cover reveals, and giveaways.
Supporting indie authors is also another thing I’m passionate about. Here, you will find features on many new and upcoming independent LGBT+ romance releases as well-loved books by favorite authors. I’m sure you’ll find one or two or more that will sweep you off your feet. And by joining the daily giveaways, you might get it for free! Let’s keep LGBT+ romance alive by supporting our beloved authors.
My blogging schedule below:
MON – Music Monday
TUE – Favorite Covers of the Month/ Desert Island Castaways
WED – chilling
THU – FLICKer (featuring gay short films)
FRI – manga and book reviews
SAT – chilling
SUN – chillingI am a highly introverted dork who drinks room-temperature coffee. I have an undying love for Wong-Kar Wai films, wuxia movies and anime. I have two dogs, Nimbus, the adventurous dog about town and Bebop who’s just bop bop bopping along. I used to have four cats, Tofu the aloof, Spook the scaredy cat, Nissin the slinky and Sprite, the bestest fat cat ever. Now, I got only three, Sprite, my bestest OG, Muy the sweet one, and Mew the fat brat.
I love, love, love shounen ai manga and I could never get enough of 19 Days by Old Xian. Some of my favorite mangaka are Ichikawa Kei, Furuya Nagisa, Hayakawa Nojiko, Nakamura Asumiko and Hideyoshico. I rarely venture into the hardcore yaoi stuff because I prefer fluff to steam.
My first MM books were the Captive Prince trilogy by C.S. Pacat and I adore all the stories to this day. My all time favorite MM book is Spectred Isle by K.J. Charles. I think it’s sublime! I read it a couple of years ago and until now I could still remember scenes like I just read it yesterday.
My favorite indie bands are too many too mention but I’m partial to punk and post-punk revival bands like Franz Ferdinand, The Hives and The White Stripes. I’m also loving IDLES, Life, Glass Animals, Fontaines DC, Missio and Royal Blood.

Hoshi Dake ga Shitteru – Furuya Nagisa
Terrible things happening in succession has college student Sora down, leading him to get lost on his way home. When he tries to find his way back, he accidentally stumbles upon a man gazing at the stars. They chat, and a connection between them starts to form.
Went about it the roundabout way but it’s all worth it.

Kimi wa Natsu no Naka – Furuya Nagisa
Chiharu Saeki and Wataru Toda are two high school students who share a common hobby–they love to watch movies. After they meet, they become fast friends until one day, their relationship takes a sudden twist. What does it mean to love someone? What can you really do about it? Follow the story of their adolescence and relationship as it unfolds through a brilliant summer.
This is every bit as beautiful as the sky on a summer day. Brought tears to my eyes.

MANGA: Gunjou no Subete
Gunjou no Subete – Furuya Nagisa
‘Once noticed, it was…’ From the 1st year of middle school to the 2nd year of high school, Makihara Kai and Mizushiro Ren have been in the same class. But in the last year of their high school lives they are placed into different classes. A small ripple is born in the unchanging days that pass by… that makes the feelings they were unaware of start to bloom. Wanting to tell him, but unable to say it. The answer deep, deep within their hearts is… The path of youth and high school boys unable to voice their love.
The moment I saw the picture above, I just knew I had to read it immediately. Only a first few chapter are out so far but OMG!!!
