“Lloyd” follows its titular character through a series of vignettes, stitched together to visualize his nadir. After losing his mother, Sylvia — something intimated throughout the film — we see Lloyd contend with his inheritance: the fraught legacy she left behind in the fictional “Wellington”, a town drowning in discord.
