13 QUESTIONS MUSIC TAG

Found this here and as usual, I jumped at the chance to talk about music. So without much further ado….

Which bands/artist do you have the most albums by?

I have all their albums, along with Thurston Moore’s solo releases. Sonic Youth was one of my favorite bands during my formative years. I thought they were the coolest thing to happened in the music world those days.

What was the last song you listened to?

I love Everything Everything because aside from the fact they always sound fantastic, they’re one of the few bands who don’t really write love songs.

What was the last concert you attended?

Download Wallpaper 1920x1080 nine inch nails, shirts, band ...

The only concert I attended was the Nine Inch Nails Wave Goodbye Tour way back 2009. I haven’t watched a lot of concerts since the tickets for international bands are astronomically expensive. NIN was a must-see. They were a huge favorite during the 90s.

What’s the most musically involved you’ve ever been?

This is the most musically involved I have ever been. I have never learned how to play any musical instruments so making playlists and discovering new bands is the closest thing I could get to being musically involved. It doesn’t sound much but I lived through the era of cassette tapes where making playlists a.k.a mixtapes was done by actually re-recording a song on cassette. I am forever grateful that music is now easily accessible online and we could do a lot of things with it.

Who is one band/artist you’ve never seen live but always wanted to?

Franz Ferdinand: We're All Bassists in This Band. We Don't ...

Me and my bestfriend promised we would watch Franz Ferdinand together if ever they would visit our country. We’re both huge post-punk fans and this band was one of the pivotal bands we bonded over when we first met. Hopefully, once the pandemic is over, the band would tour this side of the world.

What is your favourite band shirt?

I don’t own that many band shirts. These two were gifted to me and I’ve been wearing them to pieces hence the ratty states. Also, too lazy to iron.

What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?

This is similar to questions like which celebrity would you like to have dinner with and my answer to this is no one. They’d be bored to death. I’m not very good at conversations and I’ll end up being horribly awkward so let’s spare these people the agony.

Who is one musician or group you wish would make a comeback?

The Rakes and The Maccabees were two of the best 2000s post-punk bands. They have long since disbanded and I miss them. They’re the kind of bands whose songs never get old.

Name four or more flawless albums.

How many music related videos/DVDs do you own?

None. I’m not a huge fan of watching live performances on screen. I prefer listening to just the albums.

What is your favourite music soundtrack?

I have already mentioned this several times on my blog, but The Crow, both the movie and the soundtrack, is an all-time favorite. The line-up of artists is hard to beat, from The Cure, Joy Division, Jesus and Mary Chain, Helmet and more.

What was your last musical phase before you wisened up?

I don’t think I have any musical phase I regretted but there was a time in high school when Marilyn Mansion just released his album and me and my two friends were inspired to create a sorta ‘religion’. We wrote down a set of manifesto on a piece of notepad. We lost the paper, only to discover later that a teacher found it.

She knew it was some weird shit and tried to make us fess up. But since nothing that incriminating was explicitly written, she had no choice but to let it go. We were pretty pleased with ourselves. Yeah, we were a bunch of dorks. The three of us didn’t actually go ahead with our half-baked scheme but we still have a good laugh about it at class reunions.

What’s your “guilty pleasure” that you hate to admit to liking?

I hate to admit liking Rhianna songs because I’m that kind of pretentious music snob.
