This one of my favorite movies of all time. Years and years ago, I had watched this almost everyday when one of our local channels kept showing this movie as a filler during their early days of broadcast. Back then, I was too young to know who the Goblin King was. One of my cousins told me before "oh, that guy is a singer". I was like, “oh, ok”. Little did I know that I would end up worshipping Jareth the Goblin King when I discovered music at 13.
I like Sara but I want to be Toby ^_^ Toby came back to Labyrinth and to Jareth.

The Illusion of Cosplay by Pikmin Link
The Cosplay community and how it’s viewed changed a lot in the years. Watching it change makes me wonder why I still do it sometimes. One reason is because it’s fun and I ENJOY It. I love making cosplay. Some people show their love for their fandoms in different ways. I do it by cosplay. I love bringing my favorite characters to life.
Its sad to see how much of a deal gender is in cosplay now. You know what? Gender is not important. If I saw a dude pull off a really good female character and they’re able to fool you, that just goes to show that people are able to do more other than make/buy a costume and put it on. It shows that they put more work into the ‘image’ of the character. Same goes for a girl who pulls off a guy character the same way. It’s sad to see gender being a huge thing now that THAT is what decides a good cosplay. Now there are people out there that feel that they don’t want to question their sexuality because of them. You know what? You liked what you saw, not who they really are. There’s a difference. I’ve seen cosplayers pull off amazing opposite gender cosplays to the point where you can’t even tell. And when I find out who they are, I think to myself.. ‘wow, that was really cool!’ It shows how much work they put into this ‘illusion’. If they fooled you, that means they were successful.
And then there is this word- Crossplay. What is that?? Since when is the word “cosplay” a gender related word? ‘Cosplay (コスプレ, kosupure?), short for “costume play”,[1] is a type of performance art in which participants don costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea.’ There’s no crossplay in the original description for cosplay. Regardless of gender, it’s still a costume play -cosplay.
I think cosplay is about fun, and bringing characters to life and pulling them out of their world and bringing them into ours. It shouldn’t be about whats in their pants. It’s not like anything is going to happen from that anyway.
– this was from her Facebook notes. i couldn’t agree more. it’s all about execution. if you can pull it off really well, then i bow to you

Taken a rather belated liking to BRMC. They came out late 90’s at a time when the music scene was what I can put mildly as bleak. I heard their releases from the radio at that time and I was fascinated more by the band’s name although I got their songs playing in my head once in a while. I stopped buying CDs that time because of lack of funds and lack of albums worth buying. Frankly I despaired of all the crap metal at that time and lost almost all interest in music. I recently just uploaded all their 6 studio albums in my mp3 player and I was able to listen to their songs properly. How apt that they came out with this song at that time when garage rock and (post)punk started to come back. And so I gave my heart to a simple chord and my soul anew to this religion, rock and roll.

I’m loving this Fall 2011 collection from a relatively new label Creatures of the Wind. I love that it has a Japanese Aesthetic which is suprising considering that the designers are from Chicago and they got their inspiration from a trip to Nantucket. I could imagine seeing pieces from this collection in a Japanese Magazine. And I could just see myself wearing that red dress everyday until it falls apart.

Hardcore for Nerds: How to Read Books
“I say to these students who have to spend a year, two years, writing theses about one book: ‘There is only one way to read, which is to browse in libraries and bookshops, picking up books that attract you, reading only those, dropping them when they bore you, skipping the parts that drag — and…
